Our responsible approach

Walking the Talk

Our dedication to responsible and sustainable safari experiences means we constantly strive to improve. We also seek not only to lead but also to inspire by example. Here are our sustainable practices in action: 

Conservation​​

  • Our donations support conservation NGOs through the Sustain Conservation Fund.
  • We support many public and private protected areas through our tourism revenue spend.
  • We provide sightings and research data to institutions as our citizen science contribution.
  • We book accommodation, where possible, with eco-friendly and green-certified establishments that share our values.

Community

  • We book and support community guides.
  • We support local employment and enterprise in the areas we visit.
  • We respect authentic, indigenous cultures and showcase them where possible.
  • Our guests purchase community goods and services.

Solid waste and emissions

  • On tour, guests receive reusable tin bottles to fill with filtered drinking water on our journey to eliminate the use of single-use plastics.
  • We separate waste on tour between recyclables and non-recyclables in paper bags.
  • We reduce carbon emissions by conducting parts of our birding and biodiversity tours on foot in many destinations.
  • We avoid printing unless necessary. All marketing is done via electronic mediums.
  • We recycle paper and plastic at office level and on tour where possible.

Social policy​​

  • We comply with local laws.
  • We pay local taxes.
  • We comply with business and guide registrations.
  • We are members of a community tourism organisation.
