Seating & Rotation

Expectations and Rules

Discover Africa's greatest wildlife

  • Seats on a vehicle are rotated daily to ensure fairness and give everyone a good experience. Guests at the front one day rotate towards the back the next day, and then move forward again, until the process is repeated.
  • On walking trails, kindly switch positions every 15 minutes to share the front spot. In other words, if you are walking in front, please drop to the back allowing the next person time near the tour leader.
  • Please note where you are relative to others. Taller people should allow shorter people in front of them, or at the very least, ensure that they can see.
  • In the private reserves, open 4×4 vehicles are used to navigate the road conditions.
  • We conduct extensive game drives in the early mornings and late afternoons/early evenings. Depending on the group dynamics and everyone agreeing, there may be the option of game drives throughout the day. Your tour leader will make the final decision.
  • Open communication is key to an enjoyable tour. If you have concerns, problems or you missed a sighting, please inform the tour leader immediately so you can be assisted. They will also make sure you experience the sighting at another opportunity.
  • Your tour leader/guide may sometimes ignore birds or animals that the whole group has seen, but you’re welcome to let him/her know if you’d like to see something again.
  • Please communicate bathroom stops as far in advance as possible, particularly when in the vehicle.
  • We include optional activities on our trips but please don’t feel obliged to take part in all of them. On some trips and some days, however, there may not be opportunities to opt out – kindly familiarise yourself with the itinerary and speak to us in advance if you plan to opt out.
  • Safety is our top priority. If a stop is deemed unsafe, we’ll pass on the opportunity.
  • Always follow your tour leader/guide’s instructions, especially during encounters that could potentially become dangerous.
  • To ensure your safety, we prefer that our tour leaders/guides do not drive into the night. We therefore request your cooperation to ensure that time isn’t wasted during the day.
  • All camps in the national parks are fenced to keep animals from entering. There have, however, been a few incidents where dangerous wildlife has managed to get in. Kindly remain aware of your surroundings and report any concerns to your tour leader.
  • Please note, most private lodges are not fenced in. We ask you to be alert when walking around at night.

Thank you for joining one of our small group tours. We trust youll have a wonderful experience!

If this is your first birding or wildlife tour, we highly recommend speaking to us ahead of time for more details and guidance. After your trip, we welcome your feedback as we’re always keen to improve.

Kindly take note of the following simple rules we follow to maximise the enjoyment for everyone in the group. These rules also ensure fairness and open communication
